Diploma in Management (DIM) programme aims to produce knowledgeable and competent graduates who are able to perform effectively, efficiently and ethically within areas of management

Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)

PEO1: To produce semi-professional workforce to fulfil the needs of the market in the field of management.
PEO2: To enable students to expand knowledge and skills in various fields of management.
PEO3: To develop graduates to engage in continuous learning and be able to make decision ethically in their personal conduct and the community.


Programme Synopsis

The Diploma in Management is designed to cater to the needs of those seeking a career in management at the sub-professional level. Graduates are expected to be able to serve in business and non-business organisations. In order to qualify for the diploma, a minimum of 90 credit hours of approved courses is required.

Of these, 78 credit hours are prescribed while the remaining 12 credit hours (equivalent to 4 courses) are to be chosen from the respective area of concentration.

Currently, the Diploma in Management programme allows learners the option to specialise in;

  • Human Resource Management,
  • Retailing,
  • General Management.

PLO8: Seek and manage available resources in striving to accomplish the highest achievement (MANAGERIAL AND ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS)
Passed SPM/SPMV/MCE or equivalent with 3 credits; OR
Passed UEC with at least grade B in 3 subjects; OR
Passed O-Level with at least grade C in 3 subjects; OR
Passed SKM Level 3 in relevant field and passed SPM with at least 1 credit; OR
Passed Kolej Komuniti Certificate (level 3, MQF) in relevant field and passed SPM with at least 1 credit; OR
Passed Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in relevant field with at least CGPA 2.00; OR
Passed STPM or equivalent with at least grade C (GPA 2.00) in 1 subject; OR
Other qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Goverment.

APEL Entry (Only for Malaysians)

The candidate should be more than 20 years of age in the year of application AND
Relevant work experience / prior experiential learning; AND
Pass the APEL Assessment (Aptitude Test & Portfolio) conducted by OUM

Discount for the Physically Challenged Learners (OKU) and Senior Citizens

The University offers 50% discount for:

  • Senior citizens aged 60 and above on registration date; and
  • Physically challenged learners – a valid Orang Kelainan Upaya (OKU) is required.

These discounts are for subject fees only and are not applicable for research and other fees. The discounts are also not valid for second time registration and repeating of subjects.

Learners who receive this discount are not entitled to other discounts and promotions.
