Bachelor of Early Childhood Education with Honours

Programme Synopsis

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education with Honours (BECHE) degree is designed to meet the needs of persons interested in pursuing careers in early childhood education who are currently employed in preschools, public schools, child care centres or other childhood care facilities.

It is also aimed to develop the specialist skills and knowledge gained through the completion of Diploma in Early Childhood Education (DECE). This is in line with the organisation’s mission to widen access to quality education as well as to provide lifelong learning opportunities by adopting an engaging learning environment at competitive and affordable cost.

Normal Entry

Passed SPM/SPMV/MCE or equivalent with 3 credits; AND
Passed STPM / HSC or equivalent with at least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in two (2) subjects; OR
Passed Matriculation / Foundation / Foundation recognized a gain of at least 2.00;

OR


Passed Diploma in Early Childhood Education with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
Passed a recognized Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
Any other qualifications that are recognized by the Malaysian Government.

OR


APEL Entry

The candidate should be more than 21 years of age in the year of application; AND
Experience and prior learning relevant for 5 years with good grades; AND
Passed APEL Assessment conducted by OUM.

Discount for Physically Disabled and Senior Citizens

This discount is applicable to:

  • Those who are at the age of
  • 60 - 74 years on the registration date – 75%
  • 75 years and above on the registration date – 100 %,
    Administration fee will be charged (RM350 for Undergraduate & RM500 for Postgraduate)
  • Physically disabled learners or “Orang Kelainan Upaya” (OKU) – 75%
