The Centre for Learner Affairs, which attends to student welfare, had received much feedback from learners about the stress they were facing. So on 15 July, it joined forces with the Tanjong Malim Learning Centre to host a motivation programme. Aptly titled Hati Riang Jiwa Tenang (Happy Heart, Calm Soul), it featured a star speaker from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Prof Dr Mohammad Aziz Shah, fondly known as Prof MAS.
More than 1,000 online viewers and 19 in-person participants listened as Prof MAS urged them to be thankful for three things that they have been blessed with: thoughts, feelings, and a physical body. He also urged them to carry out daily acts of kindness.
If you have been regretting the past and worrying about the future, Prof MAS has this message for you: live in the here and now. By focusing only on the present moment, we can say adios to stress and anxiety, make better decisions, enjoy life more, and feel content with our lives.
According to Prof MAS, it is important to love yourself. Then, you will accept who you are, take care of yourself, be kind to yourself, value your own uniqueness, and set healthy boundaries so that others can’t take advantage of you. You might have heard this before – you have to love yourself before you can love others.
Prof MAS’s wisdom and guidance showed us that with the right mindset and a dash of self-love, we can conquer the challenges that come our way.
For learners who missed the programme, please chill. You can watch it in our official YouTube and Facebook platforms.
May you have a happy heart, calm soul, and successful studies!
