That evening, the opulent ballroom at Sunway Resort Hotel was transformed into a tapestry of traditional Malaysian colours, reflecting the vibrancy of our nation’s culture. Almost 500 staff nationwide came, garbed in traditional attire.
During the event, there were not only awards for long service (10, 15 and 20 years) but also recognition for those who excelled in other aspects. Special awards were presented for the “Best Dressed,” celebrating those who truly embraced the traditional theme and showcased their creativity. The “METEOR Ambassador” award acknowledged staff who most consistently embodied our organisation’s values and principles.
The evening also highlighted the “Most Popular Staff”, who have garnered the admiration and respect of their colleagues through their contributions and camaraderie.
Additionally, the night was filled with excitement as numerous lucky draws added an element of surprise and delight, with many attendees going home with wonderful prizes. Special door gifts were presented to all attendees during registration, ensuring that everyone felt appreciated and valued. To the delight of almost everyone present, there was a guest artiste. Cheers erupted when veteran singer, Dato’ Jamal Abdillah, 64, went on stage and mesmerised the audience with his timeless hits.
At the heart of the evening’s festivities, Group CEO Dato’ Naharudin Ali took a moment to express his sentiments. Among others, he said, “As we gather here tonight, celebrating our rich traditions and the spirit of togetherness, I am profoundly proud to be a part of this incredible event. Our theme in honour of Malaysia Day reflects not just the beauty of our heritage but also the unity that binds us all as Malaysians. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our long-service award recipients, who have been the pillars of METEOR’s success.”
As we continue our journey forward, we do so with the knowledge that the staff will always be the cornerstone of the organisation’s continued success. Together, we are stronger, and together, we celebrate our past while eagerly anticipating a brighter future for METEOR Group and Malaysia as a whole.
