On 3 November, two representatives from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) came calling – Ms Jane Gerardo-Abaya (Director of IAEA’s Technical Cooperation in Asia and the Pacific) and Ms Marina Mishar (the Section Head).
Together with participants from roughly 15 countries, they conducted a technical visit for a project that involved developing modules and open educational resources. OUM’s part in this project is being managed by its Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI). The project will enable OUM to produce even more innovative learning materials for its learners.
Then from 8 to 10 November, an OUM delegation took part in the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2022 in Jakarta. The summit looked at opportunities and challenges in higher education in the Asia-Pacific region.
At roughly the same time, the University took part in Africa Expo 2022 at the World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur, from 9 to 11 November. OUM showcased its programmes and initiatives and also took part in the talks and business matching session at the trade show for African business owners and professionals.
Then from 14 to 18 November, OUM received a visit from Finland’s Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK), which is the project leader for the Erasmus-funded multi-country BUKA project. Dr Hanna Teräs, Ms Marianna Leikomaa and Mr Esa Kujansuu were hosted by CRI and spent the week in discussions and presentations.
