Studying communication isn’t just about learning to talk better. It’s also about gaining valuable skills like working in teams, solving problems, and thinking critically. Plus, it helps you see the world from different perspectives and understand people better.

A Bachelor of Communication (BComm) degree can open doors to all sorts of jobs. From business to broadcasting, communication skills are needed everywhere. It’s not just for fancy jobs – it’s for anyone who wants to make a difference in the world by connecting with others.

What can this programme offer you?

You will receive comprehensive education to prepare you for various roles in the field of communication. Through a diverse curriculum, you will gain insight into the core areas of specialisation such as journalism, advertising, broadcasting, corporate communication, and public relations.

Which specialisation should you undertake?

Journalism: You can step into the shoes of a reporter, uncovering stories and reporting news in a way that captivates audiences. Ultimately, you’ll hone your skills as a storyteller with the power to shape public opinion, in an ethical yet compelling way.

Advertising: You can explore the dynamic world of advertising, where creativity meets strategy to craft campaigns that leave a lasting impression. With a focus on understanding consumer behaviour and utilising various media platforms, you’ll learn to create impactful advertising that resonates with audiences far and wide.

Broadcasting: You’ll master the art of radio and television production, scriptwriting, and new media technologies. Whether you’re behind the scenes or in front of the camera, you’ll learn to create engaging content that captures the imagination of viewers.

Corporate communication: You’ll navigate the complexities of corporate communication, learning to manage and enhance an organisation’s internal and external messaging. From crisis communication to brand management, you’ll develop the strategic prowess to shape perceptions and foster meaningful connections.

Public relations: You may become a master of influence as you build bridges between organisations and their stakeholders. Through hands-on projects, you’ll learn to navigate communication challenges with finesse, crafting campaigns that inspire action and drive change.
