Overview
Master of Facility Management of OUM is designed to train students in the area of fundamentals of facility management. It prepares OUM graduates to be industry leaders who make decisions, solve strategic and operational problems, and implement best management practices in the built environment. FM is a multi-disciplinary profession that ensures functionality of the built environment by integrating people, place, process and technology. FM is the total management that integrates all services to support the core business of an organisation. Recognising the need for change and focusing on the industry demand, Master of Facility Management programme is designed to meet the growing demand for professionals in the area of facility management.
SIRIM Certification:
The SIRIM Certified Facility Management System Manager (SIRIM CFMSM) certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the programme as per SIRIM requirements.

1. Senior citizens aged 60 and above on registration date; and
2. Physically challenged learners – a valid Orang Kelainan Upaya (OKU) is required.

Realigning the content with the current industry demand, we have a collaboration with SIRIM to offer additional certification to the learners who enrol in this programme. A certificate of Recognition SIRIM Certified Facility Management System Manager (SIRIM CFMSM) will be issued to MFM learners after successful completing and passing the assessment for the modules based on SIRIM requirements.

SIRIM CFMSM Certified Facility Management System Manager is a certification designed to equip the graduating master students with knowledge and skills in Facility Management System as an added value upon their graduations. The knowledge and skills are valuable in ensuring them to stay competitive and able to meet challenges and demand in facility management industries in quality area. - What are the entry requirements for MFM?
Normal Entry- A Bachelor’s degree with minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00, or its equivalent qualifications as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
- A Bachelor’s degree with CGPA below 2.50 out of 4.00, or its equivalent qualifications can be accepted, subject to a minimum of 5 years of working experience in relevant field;OR
APEL entry - Malaysian; AND
- The candidate should be more than 30 years of age in the year of application; AND
- Relevant work experience / prior experiential learning; AND
- Pass the APEL Assessment (Aptitude Test, Portfolio & Interview) conducted by OUM; AND
- Possess the following qualification:
- STPM / Recognised Diploma; Or
- Matriculation / Foundation (credit score 50-52 credits; CGPA grade 2.00 and above; minimum study period of one year); Or
- A-Level (minimum of 3 courses; minimum grade E; duration of study at least 18 months); Or
- International Baccalaureate Diploma (minimum of 6 courses and 3 required elements; minimum grade of 24 points and above; duration of study at least 2 years).
- What is the mode of teaching for the programme?
MFM is a taught course program (Part-time for 2 years) where you are encouraged to attend the e-tutorial sessions conducted using video conferencing via Google Meet (10 sessions@10 hours per course) by E-Facilitator.
You will also be supported with the forum discussion under the learning platform (MyInspire) assisted by the e- facilitator. Assignment and modules will be uploaded in your MyInspire course.
You are recommended to register for 2 courses per semester.
You are required to submit assignments through online and sit for the take home final examination through online submission. Some of the courses will have fully coursework (Case Studies and Research method). - What is the fees of the programme?
