Overview

The Bachelor in Business Administration with Honours programme is designed to equip learners with essential management acumen necessary for assuming managerial positions in business organisations. The curriculum is designed to produce graduates who are sensitive to the changing business environmental influences and responsive to new ideas in resolving emerging issues confronting business organisations.

In the inherently competitive business world, the successful companies of today and tomorrow are those that internalise values such as productivity, quality, service, competence, innovation and the like. These core values are incorporated into the programme.

In due course, this programme aspires to prepare sub-professionals with management and business qualifications which will in turn provide diverse and interesting career opportunities in related industries.

Learners are required to accumulate 120 credit hours in order to graduate.

Candidates can apply via normal entry or Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) entry.

Normal Entry

    1. A pass in STPM with at least Grade C (GP 2.0) in any TWO subjects*; OR
    2. A pass in STAM with at least Grade Jayyid*; OR
    3. Matriculation or Foundation with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
    4. A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
    5. An Advanced Diploma (Level 5, MQF) with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
    6. Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM)/ Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) subjected to HEP Senate/Academic Board’s approval***; OR

  1. How soon can I complete BBA?
BBA Full-Time Mode: BBA is a 120 credit-hour programme, which means that it can be completed in 9 semesters. That’s approximately 3 years if the programme is completed without any credit transfer, and if learners take the standard number of courses per semester as per the full-time programme structure. BBA Part-Time Mode: BBA is a 120 credit-hour programme, which means that it can typically be completed in 14 semesters. That’s approximately 4½ years if the programme is completed without any credit transfer, and if learners take the standard 3 courses per semester path (as per the part-time programme structure).
  1. How is BBA delivered?
It is run in an online mode. Online mode refers to online study and tutorials. This flexibility of modes is a specialty of OUM, the first open and distance learning university in Malaysia. It is particularly suitable for self-directed adult learners who want to upgrade their skills and qualifications on a full-time and part-time basis without having to give up work and other life commitments.

BBA has intakes in the January, May and September semesters every year.
