Overview

This is an open and distance learning programme with the aim of helping learners to have better understanding of human nature and behaviour. The programme covers a wide range of topics including introduction to psychology, social psychology, introduction to clinical psychology, test and measurement, developmental psychology, personality, health psychology, behaviour modification , motivation, entrepreneurial and productivity psychology, organisational and cognitive psychology.

This programme will ensure that graduates have a better opportunity in career advancement

This programme aims to produce graduates that are:

PEO 1: Knowledgeable with a strong understanding of the theoretical foundation and basic principle of psychology (Cognitive)

PEO 2: Effective in communication and demonstrate leadership skills and are committed to professionalism in values, attitudes and ethics in a diverse and complex society (Psychomotor)

PEO 3: Competence to solve problems, self-reflect and use scientific skills and creative thinking across all settings (Cognitive)

Upon completion of all courses in this programme, the graduates should be able to:

  1. What is the language of instruction?
    English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  2. What is the entry requirement?
    Normal Entry
    • STPM or its equivalent with minimum Grade C (GP 2.00) in 2 subjects AND credit in Mathematics and Science and pass in English at SPM level; or
    • Pass STAM (Jayyid level) AND credit in Mathematics and Science and pass in English at the SPM level; or
    • UEC with minimum Grade B in 5 subjects including Mathematics, Science and English; or
    • UEC with minimum Grade B in 5 subjects including Mathematics and Science and pass in English; or
    • Pass Matriculation/Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00; AND credit in Mathematics and Science and pass in English at the SPM level; or
    • Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00; AND credit in Mathematics and Science and pass in English at the SPM level; or
    • Diploma in Psychology with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00; OR
    • Other recognised equivalent qualifications.

      The credit requirement in Mathematics and Science and pass in English at the SPM level for candidates (1), (5) and (6) can be exempted if the qualifications comprise of Mathematics, Science and English and the achievements is equivalent to/above the requirements of the subjects at SPM level.
